I am a published comic book artist, a Lady gaga impersonator, an illustrator, a henna tattoo artist, graphic designer, I'm a model for art classes, a teacher, a patient sitter at the local hospital and a special effects makeup artist and actor for a haunted house.
I love music, comic books, pugs, food, beautiful things, things that make me laugh, zombies and art. Feel free to ask me any questions you'd like. I'm not afraid of honesty.
In fact After experiencing a lot of what i do for work, you find you don't really fear much of anything anymore.

How To Catch An Art Thief
Art thievery is running rampant in our beautiful online Garden of Eden and sometimes, even worse is siting the wrong artist on the art we post. It is so important to site the original artist when you are posting art onto your tumblr page or at least having the source go back to the original artist’s tumblr.
I know it all seems like a lot of work and I know for a fact that a lot of people delete original artist’s comments and links to “cut down on tumblr page clutter” But it’s the right thing to do and contrary to popular belief (I don’t know who in the right mind would think this) but we artists are NOT RICH and sometimes the “tumblr famous” artists aren’t famous anywhere else. I do know this though, whether you are a digital or a traditional artist, famous online, famous in museums or not famous at all, whether you have lots of money or are dirt poor, EVERY ARTIST deserves to be sited when their work is being posted up somewhere or admired.
And frankly, if you don’t know the original artist, it’s not that hard to find out who it is…
Some of you may not know this, but you can actually upload imaged you’ve found on the internet onto Google/image (just click the camera icon in the text box) 
Take the image you’ve found on the internet and upload it or simply paste the image’s URL in the box provided
Now here’s the fun part! Your detective work comes into play. There are numerous options to finding the ORIGINAL artist you just need to find the method that works best for you in every situation.
I got lucky on this one. The artist’s name was right on the front page of the google search, but sometimes you really have to do some detective work and that’s OK! It’s very much worth it and sometimes it can be kind of fun. There are so many different search options after you’ve uploaded your image “All Sizes” is good one because sometimes (NOT ALWAYS) the largest image might point you to the original posting of the image.
In this case my artist doesn’t have a tumblr blog so you can either just put the artist’s name in the description or you can link to their website/artwork homepage/facebook whatever.
I hope I’ve helped out in someway in my beautiful tumblr community and I hope I’d maybe made it a little more beautiful/thoughtful today.
If you find someone who is wrongly siting an artist, simply message them nicely. They don’t know they are doing it. They aren’t doing it on purpose. BE NICE.
If you’ve found someone who is claiming someone else’s work is their own (on tumblr or anywhere else on or off the internet)… well… I don’t care if you’re nice to them or not. They deserve don’t deserve a kind word they need to get kicked in the ass a bit.

Please post this helpful information around and spread the word! If you have anything to add to this feel free to do so as well. Finding the original artist is really not that hard! And even if you have doubts on the artist’s honesty it doesn’t hurt to just double check! If you’re wrong then no harm done, but if you’re right you could be helping someone out BIG TIME. I know I would be super grateful if someone caught someone stealing my work.

hey so there is an issue with you calling your henna tattoos "mehndi" (but also tagging it as mendhi... so you don't even care to know how it's actually called) since this is cultural appropriation and racist. Mehndi has special meaning in Hindu culture and since you aren't part of that culture and have white privilege, you shouldn't be copying these designs and wearing them...
#1 You are the only one being racist here. Henna is culturally from India, yes. but it is to be shared with everyone (nowhere is it written that other cultures aren’t aloud to do it) If you are not Italian are you not aloud to eat pizza? If you aren’t Spanish are you not aloud to speak the language? Tattooing in general doesn’t originate from the US anyway (before us in was found in china, ancient Egypt and the word “tattoo” isTahitian)I could be wrong but I do believe that America is based off of hundreds of different cultures mixed together. So I am confident in saying you are the only one being racist. Also using the word Mehndi is not much differnt from using the word Henna, it is describing the same thing. Just one is the “designs” and the other is the paste that it is drawn with. I mean I could use the word “Lawsonia inermis” instead if you want me to. Also I tag my henna using the incorrect spelling as well as the correct one in case it is searched for with the incorrect spelling, because whether you are spelling is wrong or right everyone should be able to learn about it.
#2. I have been doing henna in Wisconsin for over 9 years. I do all my work FREEHAND so I never “copy designs” and as you can see (if you had looked closer) I make it my own and express myself with my own style as well as an inspiration from the culture. I was professionally trained by a woman from Yeman 9 years ago because she thought my talent would show through the art. (Not because I was Indian) I spent years researching, reading and learning from the Hindu community about the art.
#3 Because the Hindu community in Wisconsin isn’t a large population, before we started doing henna here it was unknown to most people in the area. We teach people about the culture of it and where it came from. At no point have we said “Hey we made this up! Check us out, we are doing something no one has done before” We are simply trying to bring some culture into the community in the form of something beautiful. Plus we have been hired for many Indian weddings/birthdays/celebrations and we have been told by many people in the Hindu community that we are the best around. We are extremely well known and respected business and are business partners with many Indian families. It doesn’t seem like they care whether we are white or not. It seems to me that you are the only one… And guess what? You are Swiss/German so I don’t think you should be speaking for other cultures. (I love your cheese, is that ok if I eat it? I’m not Swiss) It’s not about WHO is doing the henna. It’s about the talent, imagery, knowledge and experience.
So before drawing the “Racist” card you should get your facts straight and think about what you are saying before you say it. And don’t speak for other cultures when you have no idea what you’re talking about.
